Graduate Summer Cohort Program
Hybrid Delivery, Executive Format
Gain a deeper understanding of the unique issues shaping the health care industry through our graduate summer health care management program, offered in partnership with VCU’s nationally renowned Department of Health Administration, ranked among the nation’s best health care management programs by U.S. News & World Report.
Eligibility
Earn a Concentration
- Open to: Current and incoming MBA students (executive, evening and online)
- Credits: Counts as three electives, earn nine credits
Earn a Certificate of Completion
- Open to: All VCU School of Business alumni;
Current and incoming evening students in specialized master's programs - Credits: Credits earned and posted to VCU transcript, but not applied to a conferred or in-progress academic degree or certificate
Curriculum
Explore the major influences in health care management from these perspectives:
- National: Covers major policy issues and information technology support
- Employer: Focuses on the business and financing of health care, insurance and wellness programs
- Health care industry: Covers health care economics, marketing, compliance and process improvement
Highlights
Accelerated Hybrid Model
Three-month accelerated curriculum with two in-person weekends and nine virtual sessions.
Comprehensive Tuition
Tuition covers texts, course materials, parking and meals during on-campus sessions.
Balanced Learning Model
Work independently and in project teams on course deliverables.
Real-World Integration
Complete a capstone project that integrates and applies learning from all three courses.
