Tuition and aid
Our Evening M.B.A. program offers competitive tuition that covers not only coursework but also the resources and experiences that enrich your education. Federal financial aid is available to eligible students.
VCU’s M.B.A. is AACSB-accredited, a distinction held by fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide. The program delivers this level of academic excellence at a competitive cost, lower than other local and regional M.B.A. programs.

Financial support
We recommend several financial support options to help students fund their education.
Assistantships/student employment
Many graduate students find part-time employment in the School of Business or with other units across campus. A master’s student employee typically enrolls in at least nine credit hours per semester and may be required to provide up to 20 hours of service per week to the hiring department, office or faculty member. Compensation is typically an hourly wage that does not include tuition support.
Student positions are posted in Handshake throughout the year, with the highest volume of postings as the fall semester approaches. You will be able to create your profile and apply the day after you enroll in your first semester courses. Be sure to check back often for new opportunities.
Financial aid
The Office of Financial Aid at VCU can connect you with federal, state, university and private resources to help make graduate education more affordable. Traditional financial aid is available through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Graduate students may borrow up to $20,500 per academic year through federal unsubsidized loans.
VCU’s Military Student Services helps veterans, active duty service members, spouses and dependents transition from service to academics — offering counseling, GI Bill® guidance and connection to resources.
Many students secure partial or full sponsorship from their employers to help finance their studies.

Can I apply if I don't have a business degree?
Yes. You do not need an undergraduate degree in business to apply to VCU's Evening M.B.A. program. Students enter the program from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including engineering, fine arts, social sciences, health care and business. Applicants from all undergraduate majors are encouraged to apply.
Is the Evening M.B.A. offered online?
The VCU Evening M.B.A. offers flexibility to attend classes in person or online, allowing students to choose the format that best fits their schedule.
What time are Evening M.B.A. classes?
Evening M.B.A. classes are held Monday through Thursday. Most classes meet once a week from 7 to 9:40 p.m., while some courses meet twice a week from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. This program does not offer daytime classes.
Can I work full time while earning my M.B.A.?
Yes. The VCU Evening M.B.A. is designed for working professionals, and approximately 85% of students work full time while enrolled. You can choose a full-time or part-time course load each semester to fit your schedule. Evening classes allow students to continue working during the day while earning their degree.
Can I customize my M.B.A. degree?
Yes. You can tailor your M.B.A. to your career goals by choosing an optional concentration or customizing your degree with electives. Students may select from concentrations in specialized business disciplines or create a broader program of study through elective coursework.
How long does it take to complete the Evening M.B.A.?
Students can complete the Evening M.B.A. in approximately two years full time or three years part time, depending on their course load.
Can I schedule a meeting or campus visit?
Yes. Our admissions and recruitment team offers one-on-one appointments to help you learn more about the Evening M.B.A. program and the application process. Meetings are available virtually through Zoom, by phone or in person at Snead Hall.
