Application Overview

To apply for the decision analytics professional track program, complete the VCU graduate school application. First-time users will be asked to set up an account prior to the start of the application. Once started, an application can be saved at any point. However, once it has been submitted, no changes or additions can be made to the online application.

Application deadlines

Round 1: February 15 (early)
Round 2: April 15
Round 3: June 15

After June 15, applications are accepted on a rolling basis, if seats are still available in the cohort.

Application fee

A non-refundable $70 application fee is required with each graduate program application. You will be asked to submit your payment at the end of your online application.

Personal statement

Applicants are required to submit a 1-2 page personal statement regarding their interest in the program. The statement should be submitted online in the supplemental section of the application and should include:

• Your career goals and how the graduate program would help you meet those goals
• Prior work and life experiences related to your interest and aptitude for the program
• Your perception of your intellectual capability to successfully complete the graduate program

Resume

A current professional resume is required and should be submitted online in the supplemental section of the online application.

Transcripts

A transcript from each institution at which a degree was conferred (undergraduate or graduate) is required. Unofficial transcripts (including mark sheets and diplomas for students who have studied outside of the U.S.) can be uploaded to the application and used to make an admissions decision. If accepted to the program, official transcripts (unopened and sealed) are required and should be submitted to Graduate Admissions. 

Prospective students who have studied outside of the U.S. must provide an official course-by-course WES or ECE external credential evaluation. This report should be sent, sealed and unopened, directly to the Office of Admissions. If admitted, all official transcripts and relevant credentials (e.g., diplomas and mark sheets) will be required to be submitted to the VCU Office of International Admissions for review.

Recommendations

Three letters of reference are required and should be submitted online by your recommenders. The online application will request an email address for each of your recommenders. VCU will contact them on your behalf.

Test scores

We do not require a GMAT or GRE score.

International students: The admissions committee does reserve the right to request a TOEFL score prior to making an admissions decision.
