App privacy policy and account deletion requirements
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 25, 2025
Thank you for using applications being tested in the Isosceles Lab (“we”, “us” or “our”). Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application. Please note that all apps are in beta testing mode when they are being used; they are not available as completed apps through mobile application stores.
1. Information collection and use
We do not collect, store or transmit any personal information by default. The app runs entirely on your device and operates without requiring access to personal data or internet connectivity unless you explicitly choose to share data.
Examples of when data may be transmitted include:
- Sending feedback via email.
- Backing up your data to a cloud service of your choosing.
- Sharing data through export features (e.g., saving or sending a file).
In these cases, data transmission occurs only after your direct action and consent.
2. Permissions
The app may request access to device features (such as camera, storage or contacts) only when necessary for core functionality. These permissions are used solely to provide the features you choose to use and are never used to collect data in the background.
3. No third-party sharing
We do not share your data with any third parties, advertisers or analytics services. Your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
4. Data retention
Since we do not collect or store your data on our servers, we do not retain any user data. All data created or used within the app remains on your device unless you decide to export or share it.
5. Children’s privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect any information, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means before the changes take effect.
7. Contact us
If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, feel free to contact us at bakerew@vcu.edu.
Account deletion requirements
EGID Tracker
This app allows the user to add a user account to track their health information. Additionally, the user is able to delete their account. In this open testing mode, there is a capability within the app to delete any account other than the last user account. Following the instructions given within the app will allow the user to do this.
To delete the last user using the app on the device, uninstalling the app will effectively delete your account. Contact the developer for any additional questions regarding account deletion.
