Registration Information
On Sept. 22, a registration form was emailed to all students who applied to graduate. All graduating students who wish to attend must register by Friday, Nov. 7. Requests to attend the ceremony after this deadline may not be granted. If you did not receive an email and believe you are eligible to participate, please email busceremony@vcu.edu as soon as possible.
You must apply to graduate to receive graduation communications.
Ticket Information
To ensure every student is able to have loved ones attend, the Fall 2025 School of Business Commencement will be ticketed.
Graduating students are able to claim up to 7 guest tickets on the registration form up until the registration deadline of Nov. 7. If students want more than 7 guest tickets, they will have an opportunity to indicate so on the registration form. Students do not need a ticket for themselves.
After registration closes and all graduating students have had a chance to claim their tickets, we will assess whether we can offer additional tickets to those who requested them. For this reason, we ask all graduates to please only claim as many guest tickets as you actually need.
Guest tickets will be claimed electronically from Altria Theater via a code that will be emailed to students directly in early December. Please do not contact Altria Theater regarding tickets.
Ceremony Logistics
Doors open for graduating students and guests at 6:00 p.m.
Graduating students should arrive at the rear entrance of Altria Theater between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The rear entrance is located on Main St. just west of the Main St. ticket booth entrance. There will be signs to direct graduates to the correct entry.
Guests should arrive at the main entrance of Altria Theater after doors open at 6:00 p.m. Graduates should urge all guests to arrive as early as possible and be mindful that traffic around the venue is likely to be heavy before and after the event. Guests will not be able to enter the theater while the student procession is underway.
Graduating students will enter the theater in a procession with their major department. Double majors should email busceremony@vcu.edu if they have a preference of which department they want to be with. Each graduating student will be called to cross the stage to celebrate their achievements! Master’s and Ph.D students will be hooded on stage.
