The Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business Online MBA program now ranks among the best in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The VCU program comes in at No. 35 in the newly-released 2020 Best Online MBA Programs rankings, which evaluated 335 MBA programs offered in a distance learning format. Rankings were based on five categories: engagement, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and student services and technologies.

“Breaking into the Top 50 of U.S. News & World Report reflects the excellence of our faculty, staff and students and acknowledgement by our peers nationally,” said Ed Grier, dean of the VCU School of Business.

Launched in 2017, the VCU Online MBA is a highly interactive two-year program that features the same world-class faculty, rigorous curriculum and career management services offered to students on campus but in an online format. Students have an average of 12 years of work experience and 55 percent are women.

The Online MBA joins two other VCU online graduate programs from the School of Education and School of Nursing, which also placed in the Top 50 in their categories.

“We are delighted with this recognition, which is a testament to both the VCU faculty who design and implement these programs and our students who engage and excel as a result,” said Gail Hackett, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at VCU.
