From CIO.com: "Growing professionally is something you must incorporate into your daily life... Results are normally the bottom-line in today's IT, but how you get there can be just as important to your long-term success."
Through coaching, mentoring, leadership development, and curriculum developed and delivered by and for IT Leaders, VCU's FTEMS program helps students foster the skills required to influence peers and executives. Students learn about themselves and their leadership style. They learn how to communicate and they learn how to listen. In addition, students build a network of high powered IT professionals and leaders. Most of all, students gain the confidence to take on new leadership roles and responsibilities. All in just over one year, without taking time off from their careers.
Each year, the FTEMS class culminates with a week long international learning experience. Our Class of 2015 will be visiting the United Kingdom in April 2015. See pictures from the trip announcement here. Several of our alumni came back to join in the fun!
Our alumni have been busy! During September - October 2014 our alum success include: CIO of the MidAmerica division for HCA, Associate CIO for VCUHs, Chief Nursing Informatics Officer for Baylor University, Manager of Application Support for HCA, CISSP
