Associate Professor of Strategic Management, specializes in the development of strategic planning systems. He has taught and guest lectured in numerous countries and is a Fulbright Award recipient to Slovakia where he both taught and conducted research on piracy. Dr. Pitts has served on the boards of five companies and as a consultant to numerous other organizations. Professionally, he has served as a reviewer for both the Journal of Managerial Issues & The Southwest Business Review, and for major publishing houses. He has been the VCU liaison for Small Business Development Center and is a past vice-president of the local chapter for the Planning Forum, the international professional body for strategic management. Dr. Pitts has also served the community by consulting, either directly or indirectly, with nearly 100 companies. He currently focuses his efforts on the European marketplace through study abroad programs such as our International Consulting Program in Prague . Other research interests include the strategic management process in former Soviet-type economic systems and competitive intelligence activities. He has also developed Honors courses in both the Wine and Motorsports industries.
