Specific topics include understanding the "negotiation culture" or the organization, prioritizing what is most important to you prior to having the discussion and conducting yourself in the discussion in a manner that validates the decision to hire you in the first place. Unfortunately, the classroom camera was not working properly during the workshop, but the audio and slides can still provide some helpful information.
Leveraging LinkedIn to Enhance Your Networking - This workshop was offered in response to feedback received from a number of students and alumni who attended previous workshops and requested a special workshop on this topic. We focus on creating an effective summary, utilizing skill and specialty area endorsements and requesting recommendations. We also address how LinkedIn can be an excellent source for identifying potential networking contacts (especially VCU alumni).
Taking Charge of Your Career- This workshop presents strategies and suggestions that can help you take charge of your career in this still uncertain economy and job market, whether you are looking to move up in your organization or conduct a job search.
