The Center pursues this mission by supporting 24 school divisions with professional development classes and seminars for teachers on topics such as: Globalization, Economics and Children’s Literature, Mini Economy, Economics and US History, Stock Market, Financial Literacy, Economics and Government

About us
Housed in Snead Hall, the VCU Center for Economic Education has served K-12 teachers in the central Virginia region since 1969. Suzanne Gallagher has been Director of the Center for Economic Education since 1990.
In addition to providing professional development for teachers in Central Virginia, she has also worked with the Virginia Department of Education as they developed and revised Standards of Learning for economics in grades k-12 and the new Economics and Personal Finance SOL. From 1976 to 1989 she was with the University of West Florida Center for Economic Education and taught micro and macro economics there.
